3D biomedical animations: science of osteoporosis

As part of an osteoporosis awareness and education initiative, Dr Kate Patterson, Senior Visual Science Communications Officer and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW Sydney, on behalf of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, created three short 3D biomedical animations about the science of osteoporosis.  The content was developed in collaboration with the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy and funded with a Grant from the Australian Government Department of Health. The animations have been utilised in secondary schools health and physical education programs and also in community pharmacies  for patient education purposes. The videos are also being promoted around World Osteoporosis Day to help increase knowledge about osteoporosis and bone health among patients, the general public and students.
