In celebration of World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) 2025, the Indonesian Osteoporosis Society (PEROSI) held a national online symposium titled “Advances in Osteoporosis Management in Indonesia.”The event, conducted on 9 November 2025 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) and supported by Anlene, was broadcast live through the PB PEROSI YouTube channel, allowing open access for healthcare professionals and the public across the nation.
With the central spirit of empowering healthcare professionals, the symposium provided an integrated platform for education, collaboration, and evidence-based discussion on osteoporosis prevention and management. It highlighted the critical role of medical practitioners in early detection, risk assessment, and comprehensive care for patients living with or at risk of osteoporosis.
The symposium featured six distinguished speakers and one moderator from various disciplines: internal medicine, orthopedics, neurology, nutrition, rehabilitation, and sports medicine. Their presentations covered topics such as the role of Denosumab in clinical practice, Fracture Liaison Services, nutritional and physical activity strategies, and functional rehabilitation to restore independence and prevent recurrent fractures.
More than 1,500 participants from hospitals, universities, and community health centers joined the event, reflecting Indonesia’s growing commitment to multidisciplinary bone health initiatives.
By equipping physicians and allied health professionals with up-to-date knowledge and clinical insights, PEROSI reaffirmed its dedication to empowering those at the forefront of osteoporosis care and advancing the IOF’s global mission of “Working together for a world without fragility fractures.”
This symposium stood as a proud contribution from Indonesia to World Osteoporosis Day 2025, inspiring collaboration, learning, and collective action toward stronger bones and healthier lives.
