SAY “NO” to FRAGILE BONES -Cancer and Bone Health@
Yaroslavl hosted a wonderful preventive event as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Osteoporosis Day. A lot of people gathered in the cozy house of culture “Stroitel” to learn more about the important topic.
Elena Sidorenko, the leader of the oncopatient community in Yaroslavl which is called ”I Love Life” and unites about 300 people, organized fascinating lectures from specialists, where guests learned a lot of useful things about health and prevention.
One of the most important and educational lectures was delivered by Khatia Gordgeladze, the Head of the City Osteoporosis Center at the Clinical Emergency Care Hospital named after N.V. Solovyov.
She told the attendees why cancer patients are at risk of osteoporosis and why early assessment of bone health is very important for them in her lecture. She presented IOF preventive recommendations and FRAX risk assessment.
Doctor Gordgeladze answered numerous questions concerning bone health.
And the workshop on self-examination became a real hit! Each participant was able not only to learn, but also to pass diagnostics at once that is very important.
