This year marks the 4th anniversary of the World Osteoporosis Day event, which is being held annually in Mongolia. This year, it is also unique in that it coincides with World Arthritis Day in Mongolia.
First event: Opening ceremony
APCO Committee member and President Mongolian Naran Society of Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Health, Dr. Myadagmaa Jaalkhorol, Prof, Amarsaikhan Dashtseren and Enkhtaivan Narangerel of Head of Joint Center, the First Central Hospital of Mongolia, opened the day for the participants and medical staff.
Second event: Public event with free risk evaluation and information about bone health
The Mongolian Naran Society for Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Health, First Central Hospital of Mongolia and Graduate School, MNUMS evaluated the knowledge and risk factors of 100 ambulatory clients about osteoporosis. The International Osteoporosis Foundation's osteoporosis risk assessment and health improvement recommendations were translated from English to Mongolian and questionnaires were collected from outpatient clients.BMD measurements and consultations were done as well.
