World Osteoporosis Day Conference – Armenia, October 18, 2025
On October 18, 2025, the Armenian Society of Metabolic Bone Diseases and Osteoporosis, under the leadership of Professor John Bilezikian, Founder of the Osteoporosis Center in Armenia, held a hybrid scientific conference dedicated to World Osteoporosis Day. The event was organized with the informational support of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF).
The conference took place at the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, attracting approximately 300 participants from Yerevan and regional medical centers across the country. The program opened with lectures delivered by prominent Armenian experts, followed by participation in the IOF’s global online conference, connecting local specialists with the international osteoporosis community.

Outcomes and Impact
The conference generated exceptional interest among medical professionals. The interactive discussions and international contributions underscored the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to osteoporosis prevention and management.
In the days following the event, the Osteoporosis Center of Armenia is conducting a series of public educational sessions aimed at increasing awareness of osteoporosis prevention and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and avoidance of smoking and alcohol consumption.
