The 2nd Marmara Metabolic Bone Diseases Symposium will be held on 8 November 2025 at Moda, Istanbul, organized under the Marmara Internal Medicine Association.
The scientific program focuses on contemporary and practical aspects of metabolic bone disorders, bringing together endocrinologists, internists, nephrologists, rheumatologists and related specialties.
The day opens with a session on vitamin D, moving “from guidelines to daily practice,” including national “best practice recommendations” for vitamin D deficiency in Türkiye, and special situations such as prediabetes and pregnancy. This is followed by a session on changing paradigms in osteoporosis treatment, highlighting target-driven strategies, the role of anabolic agents, and rational selection of anti-resorptive drugs.
In the afternoon, an interactive “Consultation Corner: Difficult Cases” addresses challenging real-life scenarios (dental procedures in patients on anti-osteoporotic therapy, inpatient fragility fractures, lactation/postpartum osteoporosis), followed by a session on bone and mineral metabolism in chronic diseases (renal transplantation, male hypogonadism, and post-bariatric surgery bone health). The program concludes with rare disease case discussions, including X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets, normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism, and bone involvement in central diabetes insipidus. Each session incorporates dedicated Q&A time to foster discussion and exchange of clinical experience.
