In a historic first in an attempt to highlight the growing importance of Osteosarcopenia, Singapore General Hospital’s Departments of Endocrinology (Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolism Unit) and Geriatric Medicine jointly hosted a hybrid public forum on 1 November 2025, welcoming both onsite and online participants for an informative session focused on promoting bone and muscle health in the community. The event aligned with the IOF 2025 WOD theme: “Loss of bone and muscle health is unacceptable.”
The event brought together healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers for a morning of evidence-based sharing and practical guidance. Specialists presented on key topics including osteoporosis, sarcopenia, fall prevention, and the role of nutrition and exercise in maintaining strong bones and muscles throughout life. Participants also benefited from an interactive exercise segment led by the Physiotherapist, who demonstrated simple, functional movements to improve strength, balance, and mobility. The event exemplified SGH’s commitment to empowering the public through evidence-based education and interdisciplinary teamwork in healthy aging.
