As part of Indonesia’s nationwide celebration of World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) 2025, the Indonesian Osteoporosis Society (PEROSI) supported a regional community education event hosted by RSUD (Hospital) Arifin Achmad, Riau Province, on 7 November 2025. The talk show, themed “Prevent Osteoporosis, Preserve Mobility, and Improve Quality of Life,” was a collaborative effort between the hospital, the Riau Provincial Health Office, and Dharma Wanita of Jambi Province — a women’s organization actively supporting public health initiatives for families and communities.
The event was free and open to the public, attracting a wide range of participants including women’s groups, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. The strong involvement of Dharma Wanita Provinsi Jambi — represented by Ny. Dra. Hj. Ardilas Hariyanto, Ny. Hj. Henny Sasmitas Wahid, and Ny. Hj. Horaswati Abdi — underscored the importance of women’s leadership in promoting bone health awareness and preventive education. Their participation demonstrated how interprovincial collaboration can amplify the impact of health advocacy across Indonesia.
The talk show featured three expert speakers:
- Dr. Harith Oktadinata, “Prevent Osteoporosis, Maintain Mobility Early”
- Dr. Remy Devriandi, “Working Together to Prevent Osteoporosis for Better Mobility and Quality of Life”
- Dr. Luluk Qurrataini, “Building Bone Density Through Exercise”
The session provided practical, evidence-based advice on early prevention, nutrition, exercise, and maintaining bone strength throughout life.
This inspiring collaboration reflected Indonesia’s holistic approach to osteoporosis awareness — combining medical expertise, women’s empowerment, and community engagement. By reaching people at both professional and grassroots levels, the event strengthened PEROSI’s mission and IOF’s vision of “Working together for a world without fragility fractures.”
