WOD 2022 IN PALESTINE
For WOD 2022, the Palestinian Osteoporosis Prevention Society (POPS) is planning to offer cancer patients free DXA Scans starting each Saturday from October 1st, 2022 till December 31st, 2022 at POPS Osteoporosis Diagnostic Center at Al Mizan Hospital in Hebron. The target group are patients who are suffering from:
- Breast cancer
- Uterus or Ovaries cancer
- Prostate cancer
Patients data will be collected and will include patients personal and medical history, type of cancer, diagnosis date, treatment and procedures (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy), complications and any drug therapy (namely hormone therapy). The data will be used to enhance bone health prevention and management in cancer patients and to lobby health stakeholders to undertake steps to address this neglected condition among cancer patients.
An awareness flyer will be distributed to cancer patients undergoing the DXA scan.
