Regional Festival of Medical and Preventive Care and Creative Support

Representatives of the Russian Association on Osteoporosis (RAOP) and volunteers of All-Russian Patient  Society “Osteorus” took part in the  Regional Festival of Medical and Preventive Care and Creative Support “Opening the Horizon - 2024”

Yaroslavl hosted the IX Regional Festival of Medical and Preventive Care and Creative Support “Opening the Horizons - 2024” aimed at helping and attracting society's attention to people with disabilities.  

Organizers are the Regional Branch of “All-Russian Society of the Deaf” Regional Branch of “Volunteers in Medicine” and State Budgetary Institution of the Yaroslavl region “Center of Public Health and Medical Prevention”.

The event took place on 07.12.2024 in the House of Culture of the regional branch of the “All-Russian Society of the Deaf” and was timed to the International Day of Disabled Persons, which is celebrated annually on December 3 in accordance with the resolution 47/3 of the UN General Assembly of October 14, 1992. One of the Sustainable Development Goals for the period until 2030 includes building an inclusive environment for persons with disabilities and eliminating social inequality.

The festival included consultations with specialists in the field of medical prevention (blood pressure measurement, eye examinations, measuring height, weight, calculation of body mass index, etc.), as well as examinations and consultations on osteoporosis prevention. It is the second time when the doctors of the Russian Association on Osteoporosis (RAOP) and volunteers of the All-Russian Patient Society “Osteorus” together with the students of the Yaroslavl State Medical University participated in this important event. The festival covered more than 100 people.
