Workshops at BfO Patient Congress
During the BfO Patient Congress in Stuttgart participants will have the opportunity to attend four different workshops designed to teach techniques and exercises to strengthen muscles and balance as well as to reduce fear of falling. The workshops last about 60 minutes each.
Topics of the workshops
Each workshop is offered twice, once in the morning, once in the afternoon.
More participation in old age (10.00 a.m. and 13.00 p.m.)
The PromeTheus project aims to maintain physical abilities and independence for as long as possible. The focus is on a training program that has been specially developed for people aged 70 and over.
Everyday training LiFE (11.00 a.m. and 14.00 p.m.)
An exercise program with a new approach: Everyday life becomes a training opportunity for strength and balance. Instead of in the gym, the exercises are integrated into kitchen work, personal hygiene, shopping or walks.
Mobile despite fear of falling (10.00 a.m. and 13.00 p.m.)
Fear is a reflex that is essential for survival. However, fear of falling can mean giving up many things that make life worth living. In this workshop, you will learn how fear of falling arises and how you can deal with it in everyday life for yourself or others.
Training in rural areas (11.00 a.m. and 14.00 p.m.)
This is about a nationwide offer of exercise courses for older people who do not live in conurbations. The focus is also on training to reduce falls. However, it can be carried out conventionally in a group or digitally via tablet.
