The Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute will actively collaborate with the Department of Prevention and Control of Musculoskeletal Diseases of Iran's Ministry of Health to commemorate World Osteoporosis Day across the country.
The main goal of the campaign is to create awareness through reaching national and subnational audiences, especially the at-risk group including women over 50 years old.
The 2023 program will be implemented in all universities across the country based on the planned measures of the MOH department. This year, the World Osteoporosis Day National Campaign is planned from October 21-26. The main goals of the campaign were educating women over 50 years old about osteoporosis and also emphasizing the risk factors of osteoporosis in order to encourage the group at risk to refer for timely diagnosis and start treatment after the definitive diagnosis, as well as to promote the awareness of the general public about the disease, risk factors, and effective prevention interventions. The educational content is compiled by the Institute based on the slogans and contents announced by the International Osteoporosis Foundation. The educational materials (i.e. posters, booklets, brochures, infographics, etc.) will be available to all 63 medical universities across Iran.
